« on: November 19, 2005, 04:24:35 PM »
Is it possible to send an email from the Trilogy PLC ? I believe you need a PC but is there some device that you can connect to the ethernet to function as a standalone email sender ?

Thanks for any advice

You can use the Ethernet XServer and connect to a LAN that has internet connection, then configure the IP address of the SMTP server inside the XServer. Now the PLC can use the PRINT #1 <EMAIL> command to send email to any email destination and content controlled by the PLC. i.e. The PLC can send real time data via email and not just limited to preprogrammed "CANNED" data.
