Technical support / RS-485 again
« on: March 15, 2007, 01:06:46 PM »
HI,

As Eddie I have the same problem.
I developed a VB application that works for about 1 year using Com1.
Now I need to use it on Com2 using your Auto485 and is not working (not in RTS not Auto)
I test the communication (Comm3) with the TLServer and this one works only in RTS.
The VB sample I downloaded from your web don't work with Comm3

What we need to do to have Comm 3 working?

Technical support / Re:Automation of Injection Moulding
« on: February 22, 2007, 07:33:05 AM »
Hi s_hussain,

First if the IMM you want to convert is an old one controlled by limit switches than you don't need an interface, and the programing is not so difficult.
For the IMM using encoders you need an interface.
On every implementation I did, small changes need to be made, so you need to have good knowledge of PLC programing and C++.
In the same time this is part of the services I offer (software+integration) so sending you the software is not something I'm looking forward to do.

Hi,

I have made several IMM conversions using Tri-Plc.
I'm using a touchscreen interface that I developed to have most of the features you can find in a modern IMM.

So to answer to your questions, it works without any problems.

Hi,

The system is back. I try to reload the existing program and it ask me for a password.  No having a password in this program I realized that I need to "clean" the mem.
Once I did that(and reload the program) everything works as before.

The question I have is what can I do, and what you suggest to do, to avoid similar situation.  This PLC has a 24V switching power supply , and between the PLC and the interface (PC) about 4ft of ribbon cable.

Thank you,

Dan

What I did not mention is the fact that when I try to connect with the PLC I receive no communication error but the ID is 00 and nothing works.

Technical support / how to counters
« on: August 17, 2006, 10:39:33 AM »
Hi,

I have one "master" counter and 30 "regular" counters.

Based on the poz of the master counter I need to activate only 2 of each regular counter.

Any sugestion of what is the best way to do this. I'm a bit concern about the size and the speed of the program.

Hi,

1.What I need is a very short distance and I was hopping that I can use two XServer and to create a wireless network. Will this work

2.Do I have to use to M series PLC or I can use a H as a slave?

Technical support / R/W DM
« on: April 04, 2006, 08:53:52 AM »
Hi,

There is any way that I can Read/W a block of DM?
Now I'm using to R/W one location per command but I would like to do this faster and easier (lot of code just to R/W DM)

Thank you,

Dan

Technical support / I-7017
« on: April 03, 2006, 07:27:34 AM »
Hi,

Two questions:

1. If I use an analog input from the PLC there is a +\_ 4 reading variation. What about using an I-7017. I will get a stady value?

2. There is any command so I can read all the DM (or blocks of DM) or I need to issue 4000 commands ?

Thank you,

Dan

Technical support / stepmove drifting?
« on: November 21, 2005, 08:50:20 PM »
Hi,

I have two problems.

1. I'm working on a program that looks like will be more than 6016. I know about M2018P. My question is if I need more than 8290 there is a solution available ?

2. Using step and direction I'm driving a servo. To keep track of positions and for comunications I use variables and DMs
If I issue a StepMove 1,R,50 and R ends up to be zero (R=DM[]-actual position) the PLC is issuing steps with a very slow speed.
I tested this on a very simple program (one circuit only) with the same result.

Please let me know

Dan
