T100MX aplicada a molding injection machines
« on: October 11, 2002, 07:46:24 PM »
I am wanting to apply a PLC T100MX4832 to a Molding Injection Machine that has 2 servovalvulas, 1 transducer of pressure 0-10V, 1transductor of position 0-10V, the servovalvulas they are controlled by cards amplificadoras that you/they receive 3 similar signs that setean speed and pressure of injection of 0-10 V, and load speed also 0-10V, like I can enable 3 output analog  exits in the T100MX.
Additionally we want to connect a Graphic HMI, and monitorear the curve of pressure and injection speed, we are planning to use the EZTouch of Automation Direct that has the communication protocol Modbus RTU.
Please send us their comments and suggestions.

Greetings.

Angel Sandoval.

The T100MX only has two channels of DAC outputs which are 0-5V. You need to construct a little opAmp circuit to amplify it to 0-10V. If your servo valve or pressure input can accept PWM signal between 0 to 24VDc then that can be used as the 3rd analog output.

Otherwise, you could use 2x ?T100MD2424 connected together via RS485 cable. This gives you a total of 48 inputs and 48 outputs and 16 analog I/Os (4 analog outputs).

If you need 40 or less inputs, then a T100MD2424 and a T100MD1616 used together give you a lower cost solution and the analog output in the T100MD1616+ can be configured as 0-10V output using just a 500 ohm resistor.

OK, regarding the operator panel wanted to know if the EZtouch of PLC-Direct that comes with a driver for Modicon Modbus RTU is compatible with the T100MX.

We have not tried it with the EZ touch before although I don't think it should be a big problem since the EZ-touch is a generic HMI and should support generic MODBUS devices.

Just wondering, did this application work well, I used to deal with a lot of plastics machines and it looks like the perfect application for the trilogic plc.  Let me know succesfull you were.

Thanks

Our PLCs have been applied in many different type of OEM machines, including plastic injection molding machines.  I don't see plastic injection molding machine being any different from most other types of OEM machines that require logic control. It should work well in such applications.

but how is the plc going to store the many operating conditions (eg pressure, velocity, heater temperature, ejector pin velocity etc) of the plastic injection machine? have learnt that it can be stored in the eeprom but is 16 memory slot enough?

The standard M-series PLC has 1700 words of 16-bit EEPROM memory location that you can use to store your data.

Still not enough? Then opt for the option with M2018P and you get 7700 words of EEPROM data memory for storing your parameters!
