Excellink on Windows 7
« on: May 27, 2012, 08:53:22 PM »
Hi, I have a client that we are trying to get Excellink working for.  I have tried to remove the existing Java, and replace with the one supplied on the disk to no avail.  Any hints on getting this to work on his machine.

Thanks,

At the moment ExcelLink can only work with the default Java installation where the java classpath is recognized. Some Windows 7 installation somehow does not register the Java classpath properly and this can lead to problem running the necessary library files.

If you have Windows 7 64-bit professional the best way is to run the Virtual XP mode so that you can start up a Windows XP as a virtual machine under Windows 7. Then install JRE 1.4.2_19 inside the virtual machine followed by i-TRiLOGI and ExcelLink. This is the easiest way to resolve any difficulties posed by Windows 7 64-bit.
