PLC Timer
« on: August 15, 2007, 06:50:17 AM »
i have E10 relay plc.
in application, we need to change the timer value in plc very frequently.
we need to provide a pc based interface to user to set timer value.
my question is, if user changes the timer value from PC (we will use command response format and Visual basic software), and if he switch off and on the power supply of plc, weather plc will maintain the value sent by PC before power off ?
i.e. weather timer values are retentive in E10 PLCs?

Yes, the timer preset values on the E10 are stored in EEPROM so after power off the timer preset values that was changed by host link command will be there the next time you power up the system.

Note that there is fixed endurance of 1 million erase/write cycle in E10 PLC. Within that limit you can change the timer settings as often as you like.
