TL5 Uploader loads EEPROM$ data?
« on: October 18, 2006, 10:29:20 PM »
Can you tell me if the TL5 Uploader program uploads the Save_EEP information as well as the machine code?

No, TL5 Uploader only upload the compiled TRiLOGI code to the PLC. The EEPROM content is not uploaded.

Are there any plans to add support for this?  I've had to move my menu strings from program code to EEPROM to conserve space but now I'm realizing I have to have my customers install the full version of Trilogi.

At the moment there is no plan to do so but we will add that to the wish list.

For now you could write a  simpleTRiLOGI program that execute a series of "Save_EEP$" to save the menu strings to the EEPROM space. You can ask your customer to first upload this "Menu creation" program to the PLC and let it run once. It will be helpful to have an LED or LCD display to indicate that all the EEP$ have been saved and then the customer can next upload the actual program to the PLC. Both files can be uploaded using the TL5Uploader program.
