'S' Curve accelleration of Stepper Motors
« on: August 29, 2003, 10:39:08 AM »
Thanks for previous help on Steppers.
We are now trying to run stepper fast, 70 full steps in 50 milliseconds then -70 steps in the next 50 milliseconds repeating cycle continuously.    Is it possible to have an 's' shaped accel/deccel profile using Tbasic, as we think this may help our application.

thanks

Tim

Sorry, the stepper can only perform acceleration and deceleration in straightline profile. You may be able to use STEPSPEED to change the speed while stepper is still turning, that way you can accelerate quickly and then when it reaches certain speed, change it to higher speed. There isn't a very smooth way of performing such a step change of speed but it may be useful for certain situation.
