Smtp text mail
« on: January 23, 2010, 08:59:21 AM »
My smtp e-mail had been working for quite some time on my md100md+. Now I am getting a message back from my road runner smtp server saying the outbound e-mail is refused  no from/sender header [r0111001]. how do I adjust my text string? I just have the following:
PRINT #1 "<EMAIL 813431zzzz@vtext.com>"
PRINT #1 "Sender: kzzzzzz@tampabay.rr.com"
PRINT #1 "Subject: system in alarm "
where the z's have been insert  anonymity.

If it has been working previously it could mean your SMTP server has changed some requirement. Do you need to login to your SMTP server for it to be recognized?

What gateway are you using? Are you using the TLServer or the XServer with the T100MD? If you are using the TLServer, you can upgrade to version 3.15 nad use the "Email Test" command to send a test email and check if there is any error.

If you are using the Xserver, you may have to try to telnet to the SMTP port and go through the mail sending manually. The procedure is explained by some web pages if you google it. Or you can try the following:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995718%28EXCHG.65%29.aspx

That will give you better idea of what went wrong with connection to the SMTP server.
