Technical support / Re: Bit Shift
« on: March 09, 2020, 07:48:59 PM »
LSHIFT or RSHIFT only shift left or right by 1 bit. It doesn't support multiple bit shifting in a single command.

You can use a FOR NEXT loop and execute the number of time you want to shift the bit.

Another way is to multiply the channel with a number. E.g. x2 is to shift 1 bit to the left , x4 is to shift 2 bits to the left... x 256 is to shift by 8 bit to the left. You will probably need to mask out the overflow bit with an AND mask to prevent number from turning into negative.

Making energy use smarter is one thing - doing so in an affordable yet full-featured way is another. Today, TRi  introduces ALEC, the “All-In-One Lighting Energy Controller” (http://www.aleccontrol.com), which is essentially a purpose-built PLC designed specifically to simplify the implementation of an Intelligent Lighting Control System. It is an embodiment of TRi’s  more than 20 years of PLC design and IIoT technology in a package that will change the way you think of Intelligent Lighting Control System.

Fully certified by UL/CSA for commercial and residential installation, an ALEC zone controller simplifies the design, installation and management of energy-efficient intelligent lighting controls, whether for a small office building or a multi-complex campus.

ALEC is the only lighting control system capable of meeting the most stringent building codes out of the box -- without requiring heavy customization, design time or labor, or specialized wiring systems. Whether you are in a jurisdiction that already requires the installation of intelligent lighting control systems in new buildings and buildings undergoing renovations (e.g. ASHRAE 90.1-2010, IEC2009/2012, California TITLE 24); or are seeking to increase your building's energy efficiency at minimal additional cost, ALEC is a simple, easy-to-install solution.

The modular ALEC system comprises three simple hardware components - a Zone Controller (ZC001), a standard push button wall plate, and Internet of Things (IoT) Gateway. This system can be scaled indefinitely to meet the needs of any-sized building or campus that you would like to place under ALEC's control. Each Zone Controller (ZC001) is a fully standalone control system that fits within a standard 4” round or octagonal shape electrical junction box and can:
•   Control up to 20 dimmable LED lighting fixtures within its zone
•   Sense motion (e.g. occupancy) within a 5 m (16 ft) range
•   Day Harvesting (aka Daylighting) Control - dim luminaire proportionally to daylight
•   Allow use of manual ON/OFF as well as dimming switches
•   Measure and report the AC voltage, current, and energy consumption of connected lighting loads
•   Store up to 20 years of daily energy consumption data (or 1 year of data measured at 15-minute intervals)
Up to 128 ALEC ZC001 units can be networked together with a single IoT Gateway to form an Internet-enabled lighting system, easily controlled from any connected computer, tablet, or smartphone via the ALEC Commander Pro software or the ALEC Mobile Config smartphone app.

For more details, please visit our new ALEC webpage at : http://www.aleccontrol.com or call 1-877-874-7527 – We will be glad to discuss your applications and potential partnership arrangement.

News / Software Release: i-TRiLOGI 6.51 & 7.11
« on: February 01, 2016, 10:57:03 PM »
We recommend everyone who is using the Ethernet on the Nano-10, FMD or Fx Super PLCs to upgrade to the latest version of i-TRiLOGI version 6.51 & 7.11 due to an important change that can significantly improve Ethernet communication performance, by eliminating packet collision issues that lead to packet losses and poorer communication throughput.

The main changes take place in the LAN speed selection on the “Ethernet & ADC Configuration” screen. In the previous i-TRiLOGI versions the software wrongly define the the Ethernet interface as Full Duplex and the resulting incompatibility with auto-negotiated Ethernet switches causes a duplexity mismatch between the PLC and the Ethernet switch which can lead to frequent collisions and loss packets. Although communication is possible due to robustness of TCP/IP the Ethernet interface is performing at less than its ideal capacity..

With the newly released i-TRiLOGI version 6.51 and 7.11, the Ethernet port will be correctly set half duplex, which we find to work extremely well with auto-negotiated Ethernet switches and that can vastly improve the Ethernet port performance.

One you have installed the new i-TRiLOGI, all you need to do is to open the “Ethernet & ADC Configuration” screen and then click on the “Retrieve parameters from PLC” button to retrieve previous Ethernet settings. Then immediately click on the “Save Parameters to PLC” button and all the settings with be written back to the PLC and the Ethernet port will be set to 10 or 100Mbps Half duplex, which is the correct settings. This simple procedure is all you need to do to see immediate improvement in the Ethernet port performance.

The new software also allows the Ethernet port to be set to “auto-negotiation” for PLC firmware that supports this setting (>= r84G or F91.2, See Firmware Upgrading ). This is the only mode where a 100Mbps Full duplex communication can be established between the PLC and an Ethernet switch.

Note: These changes are also carried to the latest CO5 Uploader version 2.2. (CO5 Uploader is a free software that TRi provides to its OEM customers to allow re-programming the PLC without giving end users the .PC6 or .PC7 source files).

News / LCD Touch Panel HMI with TRi Driver
« on: July 18, 2006, 03:22:13 PM »
KEP (Kessler-Ellis Products) has just announced that they have written a TRi specific driver for their range of LCD touch panel that uses TRi's proprietary host link command protocol. Hence this makes the KEP range of HMI not just fully compatile with the T100MD+ and T100MX+, but also extremely simple to program and they are able to access ALL PLC internal variables, including string, EEPROM, ADC, DAC, RTC etc. Please visit the following link for sample project created using KEP HMI:

   http://www.tri-plc.com/dataentry.htm#KEP

Note: Although T100MD+ and T100MX+ can be used with any third party Touch Panel HMI that supports the MODBUS protocol, there are some limitations in using the MODBUS driver approach since the MODBUS protocol is unable to access the PLC's String data, EEPROM data as well as ADC, DAC data etc. Hence we recommend KEP HMI for users looking for a HMI that are more specific to our M-series PLCs.
