Technical support / Non-volatile nano memory where are you
« on: August 18, 2011, 02:46:24 PM »
I understand the nano does not have EEPROM and that FRAM is optional. In the installation guide on page 1-7 it states:

Non-Volatile Data Storage
Integers (16-bit)
Strings (40 chars max)
1024 words

I need a small amount of nonvolitile memory for my application parameters and was planning on using the above 1K

How to do you read/write the 1K nonvolatile integer memory?

Technical support / Can I download the programming manual
« on: August 18, 2011, 09:50:13 AM »
I updated a computer up to the current version of the programming software. I see the manual for 6.2 but the current version is higher. I suspect it comes on the CD.

Thanks.

Technical support / need driver for USB to Rs-485 converter
« on: August 17, 2011, 04:26:14 PM »
Hi:
Need link to download the driver for your USB to RS-485 converter for programming the nano through the 485 ports. I have to load the driver on a new PC and am not where the disks are.

Thanks

Technical support / nano PWM outputs
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:25:24 AM »
I need to drive 2 small DC motors with the PWM outputs on a nano. No problem using the 24VDC output as shown in the manual, but I need more speed.

I would like to drive the motors using 48VDC. Is there any problem using the PWM output in the same way with the other side of the motor supplied by the +48VDC and the PWM output providing the low side?

Current would be less than 2 amps. I would tie the grounds for the to power supplies together.

I know I can do it several more complicated ways, but I have 16 motors to drive and want to keep it simple.

Technical support / Nano-10 down load
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:24:43 PM »
I have a Nano-10 that I need to down load a program from my PC vis the USB - RS485 adapter. I dont see any instructions on what program to run to support this. Please supply link to instructions for this. I have CD with TL Server 3.15 and Trilogi 6.3.

Also if I only have single PLC connected to RS-485 on Nano-10 do I need terminating resistor? If so what value?
Thx

Technical support / T100MD2424+ test program ??
« on: January 31, 2011, 10:36:32 AM »
I have a couple of T100MD2424+ boards that I would like to check out.

1. Do you have test program that checks out operation of the bare board with all extrnal I/O devices disconnected?

2. If I have a board that is "bad" can I send it to you for repair and if so, how do I do it. The boards are out of warranty.

Thanks

Technical support / need to download
« on: August 31, 2010, 10:41:47 AM »
I am upgrading programming station to Win 7 64 on new computer.

I need a link to download current JRE 1.4.2, TL server 31, TRIlogic 630 . I cant locate my install disks. I support F2424, NANO,  T100MD2424+ boars on numerous projects so need all software to program and communicate.

I saw the forum the software does not work easily with Win 7 64. Do you have a current sugestion for best practices to install this software under Windows 7 64?

Thanks for the help.

Technical support / Nano 10 RS-485 terminating resistors
« on: June 29, 2010, 11:36:33 AM »
I am setting up Nano 10 for programming via RS 485 to U485 USB converter.

Instructions show 120 ohm terminating resistor across RS 485+ and RS485- lines. Is this needed when U485 converter and Nano 10 are only devices on RS-485 lines?

In addition RS-485+ is pulled up to +5VDC by 1k resistor and RS-485- is pulled down to ground by 1k resistor  are these both needed for only U485 and Nano 10 on RS-485 lines?

Also is there a Ladder+Basic programmer?s reference for the Nano 10 ?

Technical support / F2424 Frequency measurement averaging
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:42:55 PM »
I have an application that uses a 1200  line encoder and drive wheel measuring speed in FPM. The HSC is fast enough that it registers the minor variations in speed due to mechanical limitations of the machine. I am looking for a simple way to average the pulsefrequency over a group of samples to an average value.

I looked in the samples and did not see anything that would do this.

I am thinking some type of for/next loop that loads a series of values into memory and then averages that group of values on a regular basis.

Thanks

Technical support / F2424 DAC output
« on: March 26, 2010, 10:52:54 AM »
I have the #1 DAC output connected to the isolated analog input on a VFD. It works well down to an output of about .7volts At that DAC value and below the DAC output voltage goes back up to around 2 volts when connected to the VFD. I am guessing the DAC output is being overdriven by the power requirements of the VFD?

I have done this in the past with the T100 MD without difficulty.

I have disconnected the DAC output from the VFD and verified that the DAC output does change voltage correctly when the VFD is not connected. The DAC is connected to the VFD input with shielded wire and the shield is grounded on the VFD end only.

So I assume I need som sort of amplifier between the two, any easy way to do this?

Thanks

Technical support / F 2424 and MD-HMI
« on: March 25, 2010, 09:28:06 AM »
I am using this F2424 for the first time. The display is working fine but I am not seeing the keypad inputs when pressed using online monitoring. I am using the same key routine from your samples that I have used with the T100MD2424+.

I see no mention to the base address for the F2424 when using the MD-HMI Am I correct that it is the same as the T100MD2424+ ?

The zero key starts at input 25 and input 40 is the last input for the F4 key.

My program works fine in simulation, just not with the hardware.

Possibly I have a hardware problem with the keypad that does not effect the LCD?

Thanks

Technical support / HSCDEF PMON on same channel
« on: March 11, 2010, 03:29:45 PM »
I need to set up a HSC for input pin 1 and also measure frequency on that same pin.

I believe I saw a note either in the manual or on the forum concerning using the same channel for high speed counting and doing frequency measurment.

As I remeber it said if you set a channel up by doing  HSCCDEF you don't need to also define it as PMON on that channel since is already set up for interrupt operation.

Is this correct?

Technical support / T100MD2424+ counter question help!!
« on: January 04, 2010, 03:25:12 PM »
I have an application where I count pulses from two photo cells (on two separate measuring wheels) with a T100MS2424 on a regular inputs with a standard counters (not HSC) It works well up to a certain speed but over that speed is losing counts. I have verified this using a frequency counter direct on the input line from the photocell.  I am using 2 channels for frequency measurement for another part of the machine so I don?t have 2 HSC channels to use to resolve it.

The question is: The counter is on a rung with the photocell input incrementing the counter. I do not have a special bit say .01 seconds to force the counter to be serviced. I have assumed that I don?t need one since the counter will be incremented whenever the input changes state.  Am I correct here?

I have thought of changing to the new F2424 board since it seems to have the ability to use 2 HSC and 2 frequency measurements on input at the same time. Is that correct? If I change to this board will the program run on the F25 from the older board? I see some input pin locations are different, but most else is the same.
Ideas will be appreciated. thanks

Technical support / E10-NPN programming
« on: December 11, 2009, 09:48:42 AM »
Hi:

I have done programming for the T100MD2424 using TRiLOGI Version 6.13 software. Do I use the same package for the E10-NPN or do I need to down load a different version?
Thanks
