Technical support / Re:Phase Lock Loop

Well the plc would generate an outgoing frequency and then recieve a frequency that it needs to match. So that the plc output frequency tunes to the incoming frequency. I hope that make since.

What would be the easiest way to program a phase lock loop or what basic keywords would i use to get started. Should i try to take a loop and compare set frequency to incoming frequency and make the two match?

Might have found the issue. High speed inputs on the fmd1616 are different then the high speed inputs on a 2424.
I had channel 1 set up for high speed and on a 2424 this is input 1 and 2. On a 1616 channel one is 3 and 4.

Follow up.......

One thing I forgot to mention is that if you toggle the input that is messing up (3) it will start responding but doesn't seem to respond like it should. When i reset the plc, it is back to the same exact problem.

If I remove the connector for inputs 1-8 and move it to inputs 9-16, the online monitoring responds correctly. Then if I move it right back to 1-8 and reset the plc the problem continues.

Technical support / FMD1616-10 Online Monitoring
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:53:01 AM »
I am having an issue with an FMD1616-10. I'm not sure why, but when I boot up the plc it will correctly show up the lights on the inputs, but the online monitoring will not correctly show the inputs.

To narrow down the problem I have tried several different things.

Upgraded to the newest software version and I am running the correct jre.

I checked to see if all grounds were connected.

Had the correct voltage on both power supplies.

Unplugged various things to make sure it wasn't something hooked up to the plc.

Loaded several different programs revisions.

Then I Loaded the same exact program to a F2424 on my bench setup and the problem was corrected. Then when I unplugged all connectors from the F2424 and replaced it with the FMD1616 and the problem was back.

This all leads me to a Problem with my FMD1616-10.
So what do I do next?

I downgraded to 1.4.2 and so far downloading has been much easier. Thanks!

I've also had this issue on my Hp laptop running XP SP3. I thought it was because of the 485 so I switched to ethernet. The problem continued. I've also tried switching off my wireless and it did not make a difference. I will have to see what jre I am running and try the other one out to see if it fixes my problem. Online monitoring is unaffected. It sounds like I am having the same exact problem though.
