Technical support / Can I download the programming manual
« on: August 18, 2011, 09:50:13 AM »
I updated a computer up to the current version of the programming software. I see the manual for 6.2 but the current version is higher. I suspect it comes on the CD.

Thanks.

Technical support / need driver for USB to Rs-485 converter
« on: August 17, 2011, 04:26:14 PM »
Hi:
Need link to download the driver for your USB to RS-485 converter for programming the nano through the 485 ports. I have to load the driver on a new PC and am not where the disks are.

Thanks

I am using flyback diodes across the motors to take care of the inductive feedback issue. The output is pulled up to +24 internally with a weak pull up resistor it says in the manual so I would think the current avalible is way below the threshold of the motors needs.

I changed direction to using the output to drive a DC-DC solid state relay which is working well. I could build a simple MOSFET driver board , but really want the solution to be off the shelf for longterm mainenance man type of support.

Thanks for your help on this.

Cheers

Technical support / nano PWM outputs
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:25:24 AM »
I need to drive 2 small DC motors with the PWM outputs on a nano. No problem using the 24VDC output as shown in the manual, but I need more speed.

I would like to drive the motors using 48VDC. Is there any problem using the PWM output in the same way with the other side of the motor supplied by the +48VDC and the PWM output providing the low side?

Current would be less than 2 amps. I would tie the grounds for the to power supplies together.

I know I can do it several more complicated ways, but I have 16 motors to drive and want to keep it simple.

Technical support / Nano-10 down load
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:24:43 PM »
I have a Nano-10 that I need to down load a program from my PC vis the USB - RS485 adapter. I dont see any instructions on what program to run to support this. Please supply link to instructions for this. I have CD with TL Server 3.15 and Trilogi 6.3.

Also if I only have single PLC connected to RS-485 on Nano-10 do I need terminating resistor? If so what value?
Thx

Technical support / T100MD2424+ test program ??
« on: January 31, 2011, 10:36:32 AM »
I have a couple of T100MD2424+ boards that I would like to check out.

1. Do you have test program that checks out operation of the bare board with all extrnal I/O devices disconnected?

2. If I have a board that is "bad" can I send it to you for repair and if so, how do I do it. The boards are out of warranty.

Thanks

Technical support / need to download
« on: August 31, 2010, 10:41:47 AM »
I am upgrading programming station to Win 7 64 on new computer.

I need a link to download current JRE 1.4.2, TL server 31, TRIlogic 630 . I cant locate my install disks. I support F2424, NANO,  T100MD2424+ boars on numerous projects so need all software to program and communicate.

I saw the forum the software does not work easily with Win 7 64. Do you have a current sugestion for best practices to install this software under Windows 7 64?

Thanks for the help.

Technical support / Re:HMI interface Automation Direct C-more
« on: August 09, 2010, 07:26:32 AM »
Good to know. I would judge from your response that the effort did not produce stellar results. Have you used the MD-HMI of Tri? did you find the C-More any easier to impliment or able to provide improved usability? In the work I have done with the MD-HMI I find that I wish that it had a few more support routines to reduce the coding effort for small projects.
Thanks

Technical support / Re:Nano 10 RS-485 terminating resistors
« on: July 01, 2010, 08:49:16 AM »
I just used the 120 ohm resistor across the 485 +/- lines and it worked fine. The CD that comes with the U485 adapter has a document that confuses the issue. I think shipping a TRI doument on the CD that outlines 485 connections and termanation issues would make the product even better.

Nano 10 is a great product ! I have used ADC inputs, PWM outputs to direct drive 2 DC motors in seperate PID loops, the devlopment was quick and the results excellent.

Also for applications that require absolute rotary feedback with long life this sensor is helpful. It interfaces directly with TRI ADC inputs and supply voltages. http://sensing.honeywell.com/index.cfm/ci_id/140301/la_id/1/pr_id/128790.htm

Technical support / Nano 10 RS-485 terminating resistors
« on: June 29, 2010, 11:36:33 AM »
I am setting up Nano 10 for programming via RS 485 to U485 USB converter.

Instructions show 120 ohm terminating resistor across RS 485+ and RS485- lines. Is this needed when U485 converter and Nano 10 are only devices on RS-485 lines?

In addition RS-485+ is pulled up to +5VDC by 1k resistor and RS-485- is pulled down to ground by 1k resistor  are these both needed for only U485 and Nano 10 on RS-485 lines?

Also is there a Ladder+Basic programmer?s reference for the Nano 10 ?
