Title: Barcode Printer
Post by: philipjoseph on December 23, 2002, 12:26:11 PM
Does anyone know where can I find a barcode printer with RS485 connection and ID?

I have some PlC's connected through a network, but I need generate barcode at diferent places. I cann't connect the barcode printer to every PLC, because I have 4 PLC and I need 10 or more barcodes. I know that the TX PLC's have 2 RS232, but if I use them, that mean that I need one PLC for every 2 barcode printers.

Zebra manufactures their XiIII series printers with a serial port, with the purchase of an additional adapter (which is available through them) you can convert to 485 which is addressable, allowing you to create a multidrop-link network with all your printers and feasibly use only one PLC.
