Title: I know this is possible but...
Post by: akforsyth on December 23, 2003, 08:35:09 PM
I know this is possible but I do not know where to start this project. ?I am looking at designing a system to automate, regulate, and monitor a simple project. ?I am at a loss though on the equipment necessary. ?I have used PLC's in the past for basic functions (testing for pH, and other chem in water) and have used ladder logic before in the creation of the programs, but this home project is a little more ambitious. ?The specs for my project are:

1. ?12 Input, at least 10 Analog, the rest digital
2. ?20 Output all digital (Some dependant on Input results, some based on timers)
3. ?PLC running the everyday operations, but with a tablet PC displaying the sensor readings (both numerical and trending graph) and output device states.
4. ?Internet accessability, both for monitoring and program editing.

Any help on equipment needed to get this project up and running? ?Thanks.

hi, can you be a little more clear about your project? What's it going to do? What are you trying to control.. is it ph levels in a tank such as chemical treatment or something like you say you have done in the past?
