Title: ADC
Post by: can on December 06, 2010, 09:15:33 AM
Hi. I'm using the ADC to read a torque output of the motor by connecting to the motor driver. If the torque is applied in cw direction, the output is positive. However, if torque is applied in ccw, can the MD888 read it using ADC?

BTW, what is the type of output voltage? Is it pulse or simulation?

Thank you

Our ADC are single ended. If your motor output +/- then unless you can bring the motor 0V analog output to tie with the mid point voltage level of the ADC (2.5V for a 0-5V ADC) you can't use this PLC's ADC to read the torque level.

If your torque can be output as pulses of either varying frequency (VCO type) or varying duty cycle (PWM type) then you can also use the PMON functions to read the torque.
