Does anyone know of a good literature reference on the web or otherwise for tuning PID.
Thanks,

Try this link http://members.aol.com/pidcontrol/

I found it to be very useful simulation software for demonstrating the tuning of a three term controller.  The brains behind the package -David St Clair (retired Du Pont process control engineer) - was very helpful when I was looking at it a few years back.

If you have access to Matlab then it is relatively straight forward to build your own 3-term control loop using Simulink. :)
