Title: High DataLogging capacity
Post by: Gerhard Diedricks on February 25, 2003, 10:38:15 AM
We are investigating the possibility to log a large amount of data Via a MD888+ at a remote site.
The idea is that a qualified person will collect the data at regular intervals. The enviroment does not allow a Laptop or PC to be connected continously. We are attaching a Touchscreen that will give us 256K of space but double or more will be exellent.

Is there a way of interfacing a Compact Flash card to the PLC to provide this capability?

Unconventional but works.

In the past I used a hardware keystroke grabber to off-load data from a plc. They are available in up to 500,000 character storage. Just write a routine that simulates char generation on a pc and output the stream to the grabber via a keyboard connector. Before yoy laugh remember this was before usb drives and flash cards.
