Title: Hooked up power to the wrong connector
Post by: raan on November 30, 2007, 11:18:12 PM
I inadvertently hooked up +24vdc to the rs485 terminals on a t100md. Needless to say the plc no longer communicates (tried *IR no response) and the PLC is no longer running the program it was loaded with. Can  I replace some ICs and/or components to resurrect it or is it permanently damaged?

YOu can replace the 8-pin IC 75HVD3082 (an easier to find replacement part is 75176) and it should work.

If you are not using the RS485 then you can simply remove the 75HVD3082 and the PLC should work again if there is no other damages.

Thanks. I tried removing the 8pin dip but it still did not work. I am going to replace the 74hc595 and see if this fixes the problem

Changing out the 74hc595 ic did not correct the problem. Do you have any type of board repair or exchange?
