Title: E10+ and PWM
Post by: BobS on June 10, 2007, 05:41:48 PM
Does the E10+ software support the PWM duty cycle measure function?

Would like to measure the duty cycle of 2, 90 HZ. PWM signals, do some simple math, and output one 16 HZ PWM signal.  Is this readily doable with the 10+?  Any hints appreciated.

E10 doesn't have the ability to ouput PWM. It is strictly a relay replacer and is not able to measure input PWM.

However, doing this with a T100MD888+ is a piece of cake. You can write the program in a few minutes.  Measuring input PWM pulse width and frequency is not an issue. However, the PWM has only 8 fixed output frequencies and one of them happen to be 16Hz so this is possible for your app. You can vary the out duty cycle with 0.4% resolution.

The T100MD888+ is a bit pricey for this application, any other suggestions?  Something striped down?

At the moment T100MD888+ is our smallest PLC that can handle PWM measurement and output.
