Title: DAC output
Post by: Will Steed on September 26, 2003, 08:07:41 AM
Although it does not apply to the project I am working on right now, using an MD2424, is there an easy way to condition your 0-5 DAC outputs to a give you a +/- 10Vdc output, other than by using an off-the-shelf signal conditioner.  In hydraulics, proportional and servo valves typically use a +/- Vdc input.

I have used signal conditioners with your plc's in the past, but this gets a bit pricy.  Any help would be appreciated.

You do need an operational amplifier circuit to convert 0-5V to +/-10V. Look through some OpAmp text books to get a circuit.  The circuit is not difficult. However, I tried to look around for a low cost, off-the-shelve converter but no luck.
