Technical support / Communication with serial port
« on: November 01, 2012, 01:22:21 AM »
Hi. I have a computer A that outputs commands through comtrol rocketport to computer B. Computer A will send signal A, B or C and wait for reply like PASS A, PASS B, or PASS C, before it moves on to the next task. Can I use a 888 to replace computer B? All the codes of the computer is in C++. How do I do it?

Thank you.

Hi guys. I have a machine that has a lot of sensor using profibus. I'm trying to retrofit the control using fm88. How can fm88 talk profibus with the sensors? Thank you

Hi. So is there any way to write to a protected worksheet from excellink? If I'm developing a HMI for a machine, I will want to hide and protect the worksheet from unauthorised modifications. How can that be done?

Hi. I have another question. If I want to protect my worksheet or hide my worksheet in Excel, can Excellink be able to modify or update the protected or hidden worksheet? Thank you.

Hi. I've tried it and writing single variables is alright. However, when I'm writing a range of DM to plc 1, it is always overwritten with DM that is supposed to be written to plc 2. When I check plc2, the DM is correct. Any idea why this is so?

Hi. Can I write to 2 different PLC networked together using RS485 under a same site? Currently dm[1] of plc 2 is being overwritten to dm[1] of plc 1. When I make the command inactive, the dm[1] of plc 1 is correctly written. Any idea why is that so?

Hi. Can I use the MD888 to create a pulse in order to simulate an encoder? Thank you.

Hi Gary, thanks for the information. Can you show me how to use CD4013 or CD4040 to divide a single phase by 4 or 2? I'm only interested with counting the number of revolutions of the shaft. Beggers cannot be choosers. Have to make do with what's on the ground. thanks.

Dear all, can the plc talk profibus? Thanks.

Hi Gary, you right. I'm trying to build a servo positioning system using the 888. When I first had the idea, people were telling me that the positioning system can only be built with better and more expensive PLC. So I'm currently trying to prove them wrong. Any idea how to do it? If there's no solution, then maybe I will have to use a linear scale with the PLC to get the linear position. Any experience with linear scale output? thanks.

Hi. thanks for the reply. Why is the A and B phase output not applicable? Can I put the flip flop onto the 2 phase before feeding to the hsc of the plc? Both phase will be lowered and plc may be able to read the signa?

Anyone knows if a frequency divider can help to lower the 1024 pulse per revolution sqaure wave ttl to 400 pulse per revolution? Thanks.

Hi. Will a frequency divider helps?

Hi. FMD88 seems to be the same as 888 from what I see after trying them. Maybe you can try and verify in case I'm not doing it correctly? Thanks.

I used the Auto485 to check I7018 directly and it can communicate. Does it mean anything?
