Title: I did't set a password but it wants one.
Post by: yosepht on October 04, 2008, 01:09:10 PM
It has been a while since I messed with my T100MD + I powered it up and
it wants a password which I don't even remember setting. I am using trilogi
version 5.01 TL server 1.0. I don't have anything I need to preserve on the
PLC. How do I reset and establish communication so that I can go forward?

                                                                          thanks in advance. ::)

Are you referring to a transfer password? If so, see the following thread:

http://www.tri-plc.com/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1174

If you are referring to the password the TRiLOGI ask for when you try to login to the TLServer, then please click on TLServer "Configure User" button to reconfigure the username and password.

Thanks for the quick response. when I send the command @01$cKILL00 the
response I get is @01$c06. Is that the response string I should expect? If I try
to configure user it gives me password error. The "program transfer to PLC"
option under the controller menu remains inactive.
                                                             thanks again :'(

The "@01$cKILL00*" is to remove a transfer password to the PLC and you only need to do this once. You did get a correct response. Can you explain in greater details what's the problem? What error are you seeing when you configure use? Is there an Admin password (default in no password)? If so and you don't remember the password, then try to re-install your TRiLOGI software again.

There is probably something simple I forgot, it has been couple of years.
Ok, I start the TL server and Trilogi softwares. On the TL server if I go to
serial port set up and send a command I get a response string as in the
above post which I believe means the comm parameters are correct.
When I go to the Trilogi screen  controller-->select controller and detect ID
the response is an error screen that says "please check username/password
and retry" . I have not set a password and if there was one set it should
have been cleared by @01$cKILL00* if I understand it correctly.
I have reloaded my laptops(2 laptops) with Trilogi software but nothing
seems to change.

This password is the password requested by the TLServer. This is not the transfer password requested by the PLC.

Every TRiLOGI and TLServer is pre-installed with username "samples" and no password. This is mentioned in the TLServer help files and the programmer's reference manual. Please try using the username "samples" and blank password and try to login.

It's all good. It let me add a user and work with my new UID but not with either
"Administrator" or "samples" UIDs. That's fine with me. Thanks for your help. ;D
