Title: Strain gauge
Post by: can on February 18, 2010, 08:04:46 AM
Hi. How can I get readings from strain gauge? Can MD888 do it?

Thanks

If you configure your strain gauge into a wheatstone bridge and can output signal in the range of 0 to 5V then the PLC can read the signal using its analog inputs.  If the signal level is too low then you may need a signal conditioner to amplify the signal to 0-5V range so that the PLC can measure the voltage and provide a reading for the force.

I have a load cell that states 1mv/v that I want to connect to plc for fast response reading. The signal from the load cell will go through an amplifier that has a 12v input. There is FG, GND on the amplifier also. Anyone knows what it stands for? Can I use the MD888 for the purpose?

Thanks
