Title: PLC and Appliance connection - Need Help
Post by: nheilBRO on June 17, 2006, 06:13:03 AM
Hi All,

I am a newbee in this electronics gadget, I have T100MD888+ that I want to connect to a cannivalized CPU cooling fan, I cannot figure out how this things works. Anybody could give guidance< I will appreciate it.  thank a LOT.

Btw.

I am using TriLOGI 5.xxx for Lodder Logic Design.

What is the voltage rating of the cooling fan?

If you use the T100MD888+ with 12VDC you can connect "+" end of the fan wire to +12V, the "-" end goes to PLC's output and it will work with any output.

If your PLC runs at 24V, then you can only use the PLC output #7 or #8 (as PWM output) and set duty cycle not more than 50%. You can change the duty cycle to vary the fan speed. The average voltage applied to the fan at 50% duty cycle = 24 x 0.5 = 12V DC.

thank for the advice.
I will contineu my experiment.

Btw.

the voltage of the cooling fan is 12v.
