Technical support / modbus
« on: December 19, 2010, 06:28:50 AM »
Hi. I'm trying out the modbus ascii communication between 2 MD888 using RS485. When Master 888 input 1 is on, output 1 on Slave 888 should be turned on. Sometimes the slave 888 will have a delayed response. Any way to improve the response of the system? I've put a 0.1s clock to write and read from the MAster to the Slave currently. Any problem with that?

Thanks

Technical support / ADC

Hi. I'm using the ADC to read a torque output of the motor by connecting to the motor driver. If the torque is applied in cw direction, the output is positive. However, if torque is applied in ccw, can the MD888 read it using ADC?

BTW, what is the type of output voltage? Is it pulse or simulation?

Thank you

Hi. Can I just use I7018 with MD888 by loading the program example and connect with a J type thermocouple?

Hi. How do I use my laptop to read data from slave MD888 if I'm connected to master MD888 using RS232? Do I need to set any pin on slave PLC to let it become slave?

Thank you

Hi. I'm trying to use a MD888 to give a DAC signal to a motor driver in order to control the speed of the motor. After I've connected dac 1 and 0vdc from the analogue IO port to the motor driver, the motor start turning by itself even though the power to the 888 is not even switched on. The voltage across the 2 pin is 0vdc. Is it a problem with 888 or with the motor driver? How can I make the 2 work together? Thank you

Technical support / Pulse and direction

Hi. After trying out MD888 for so long, I would say it's a good product. However, there's something I do not understand. If the stepper motor driver is controlled by pulse and direction signals, what determines the speed of the rotation? The pulse frequency?

Thank you.

Hi. I have a motor driver that output TTL 4096 signal. Can I use it to calculate the number of revolution the motor has rotated?

Thank you.

Hi. Recently played around with ExcelLink version 2 and found that it's a great program. However, I'm wondering how to write to the output of the PLC from Excel sheet since it's one of the option in Excel Link. Tried reading and writing to DM and it works but failed for writing to output and counter. Any ideas? Thank you.

Technical support / ADC

Dear all,

I'm trying to attach a LVDT that output 0-5vdc signal to the ADC port of a 888. The LVDT is going to measure distance of 80mm within 0.4s. Can 888 give an accurate reading? Or will the readings be delayed and end up LVDT going a distance of more than 80mm?

Hi. Has anybody tried to control the speed of an ac servo motor by using the analogue output to give a voltage to the motor driver? I currently have a motor driver that accepts 0-10vdc as analogue input. I want to use the analogue output of 0-5vdc to control it. The question is that if I activate function setDAC 1,4096, will the motor driver immediately run at full speed? Or should I write a function to accelerateor decelerate the motor by varying the output voltage?

Hi. Can I use an old laptop as a HMI for MD888+ instead? It will be connected to the plc by 9pin cable. Any ways to do it?

Technical support / PLC to replace rheostat
« on: June 11, 2007, 02:32:56 PM »
Hi guys,

like to find out if 888+ can replace rheostat. Do I use the analogue output to connect to an external device to replace the rheostat?
