Title: Dead Ethernet Connection
Post by: sparks32 on March 24, 2014, 07:25:18 AM
Hi Moderator,
I have a 6 month old Fx2424 i have just started to use and when i plugged it into the router via Ethernet the yellow light never came on. I Tried different cables, different router ports. I Looked for it’s mac address through my router set up page and got nothing. Everything else I plugged into the Ethernet cables works fine. Is There a chance I have a defective Ethernet port on it?  The RS232 port works fine

Are you able to retrieve the IP address and the MACID from the PLC via serial port and TLServer?

Did you try to ping the IP address of the PLC? If the MACID is not what is shown on the sticker on top of the CPU or the Ethernet connector then the PLC defaults to IP address 192.168.1.15:9080. If you have a corrupted MACID please email to support@triplc.com for resolution.

PROBLEM SOLVED
the Ethernet port lights lit up all of a sudden but i was still having trouble with it for a while. I was trying to ping it and looking up all my attached devices through my router set up page with no success .
I solved it by connecting to the fx2424 via serial port and ran i-trilogi went to controller tab/ Ethernet & adc configurations/ Retrieve Parameters from plc.
it gave me the following info
ip address : 192.168.1.5
gateway IP: 192.168.1.1
my real gate way and 2 PC's IP's are
gate way IP:192.168.0.1
PC No.1      : 192.168.0.2
PC No.2      : 192.168.0.3
So i changed the second last digit from (1) to a (0) on the Ethernet configuration to read
IP Address :192.168.0.5
gate way IP:192.168.0.1
hit the [Save Parameters to PLC] button and that fixed everything.
