multiscale timer
« on: June 22, 2006, 09:01:56 AM »
Hi,

I'd like to use a T40H-relay to read inputs from some BCD switches or similar and depending on the setting of the switch, start a timer.
Ideally I'd have a minutes x 10 BCD switch, a minutes BCD switch and a seconds x 10 BCD switch.
From these I'd like the T40H to count the time as set (10 second resolution, any time from 10 seconds to 30 minutes).
I'm not sure if this can be done and if so, where to start!

Thanks!

T40H is not good for reading BCD data from its input port since it is pure ladder logic controller and its main task is to act on individual I/O based on their logic relationship.

You should consider using the T100MD2424+ PLC to provide the same number of inputs as T40H. The Ladder+TBASIC language of T100MD+ PLCs  can easily read in the BCD data connected to its digital inputs and then manipulate them to translate into timer set value to start a timer or do something more sophiscated, such as display on LCD or communicate with other devices.
