Writing to File with XServer
« on: March 09, 2005, 09:02:29 PM »
Using TLServer V2.1 with the PLC connected to my PC via the serial port, I am able to write data files to my PC.

How do I accomplish the same thing when using the XServer?  No files get created on the PC.

Is there some sort of PC based application that I must run to communicate with the XServer hardware?

Since XServer does not have a file system you can't save file on the XServer itself. However, you can send via XServer <REMOTE> command so that the data is saved on a remote TLServer connected to the LAN or Internet.

E.g.  PLC and XServer at location A

Some PC running TLServer at location B.

All you need to do is to use the <REMOTE [ip address of  B]> and then execute the same file write command to write the data to the TLServer's hard disk  at location B.
