When I press F8 to test-compile the program nothing happens
The program does not crash but I do not get a compilation window.
Trying to transfer to the PLC, Ctrl.+T gives the same result.
Tried to restart the software and the computer to no avail.

Which version of software (DOS or Windows)
Does this happen to every program? If it happens only to a specific program then you can email the program to support@tri-plc.com to check out. Most likely there is an exception occur. You can see the error message if you start up the program from command prompt. E.g.
C:\TRILOGI\TL5> java -jar TL53.jar
A TRiLOGI 5.3 window will open together with a command prompt window and when there is an error the command prompt window will show the actual exceptions.
