Novice User needs help with E10-npn
« on: June 19, 2002, 12:22:50 AM »
I'll start out by saying my experience with PLC's is practically zero. The Trilogi software made learning how to program them very easy however.

The issue I'm having is communication errors with the E10 when I try to program it. Since the documentation I have on the E10 is almost nothing, I can't seem to find the answer to a very simple question.

Does the E10 need to have power in order to be programmed or can it be programmed while unpowered?
(I ask because my power supply seems to be non-functional at this time, and cannot just try it powered up)

Yes, you need to power up the E10 PLC in order to program or perform on-line monitoring with it.

Since the TRiLOGI version 3.3 only run in DOS, make sure that you use a PC that allows you to boot up in pure DOS mode. Don't use it in a DOS prompt box within Windows.
