FP4030MR Communication Problem
« on: January 15, 2016, 07:14:39 AM »
I am trying to use the FP4030MR HMI with a NANO and a I-7017 analog input module but I am having problems.

   1. The FP4030MR only communications with the NANO sporadically.
   2. The NANO has problems communicating with the I-7017 module when the NANO tries to communicate with the I-7017 it will receive the command strings from the FP4030MR and the I-7017.

I have each unit set to a different address and I have even tried to use MODBUS protocols in the FP4030 but it does the same thing.

I am using the NETCMD to communicate with the I-7017.

On a RS485 network there can only be one master at any one time. If you connect both a FP4030MR (which works as a master) and a I-7017, you are programming the Nano-10 to be the master. This interferes with the FP4030MR attempts to talk to the Nano-10 as a slave. That causes communication problem.

If you want to use both FP4030MR and I-7017 at the same time you will need to use two separate comm ports. You can upgrade to a FMD88-10 and connect FP4030MR to the RS232 port and the I-7017 to the RS485 port.
