Hi,
I want to print caracters, so I am looking for printer to do it. However, I'd like to send different  ASCII caracters with a T100MD via RS485 to every printer. I need to know the specification should have the printers. Do they need IP address? How the PLC difference every printer?

It depends on whether your printer allow itself to be selected by software commands and each printer can assume a different ID.

From the VersaJet manual you sent me, apparently some of the models support software selection and some don't. You will have to learn its command in order to select the printer to print.

If the printer is not selectable by software, then you may need to use a number of relays and use the PLC's digital output to connect the PLC's RS485 pair to the RS485 port of the printer(s) which you want to get the printing.
