adc input programming support
« on: April 20, 2010, 10:16:14 AM »
I am currently trying to use the t100md888+ with a 1616r board to control some hydraulic actuators.  I am currently using NO, NC pressure switches that are set as two on each line for actuator in and actuator out.  (total of 4 pressure switches)  Reason for this is that I needed some form of hysteria, meaning I want to control the pump off at a certain pressure and back on at another pressure since no actuator is prefectly sealed.

I am now hoping to upgrade to pressure transducers.  There are of 4-20ma type and I understand the hardware installation.  However I am looking for the logic or rather the programming instructions.  I am familiar with the simple inputs and outputs, virtual relays and timers, but I don't know how to get a value from the tranducer to control a digital output.  Any examples would be great.  Thank you in advance.

This should be easy to do with TBASIC since you can read the analog value using the ADC(n) function to read from ADC value. You can then convert the values into the unit of measurement that you are interested in.  For description on how to scale the ADC readings (0 to 4092 on M-series or 0 to 4095 on F-series and Nano-10) to the measurand, please read the following thread:

For information of how to wire 2-wire 4-20mA sensors to the PLC, please refer to:
