PLC Password Error
« on: August 12, 2008, 07:26:25 AM »
I am getting a Request for Password from the MD888 PLC even though I have not set the PLC option and it is giving me a Checksum error and request that I reload the software but I can not because it is request a password first. I have had this come up with this sotfwar a couple of other times but I was able to reset and the problem went away but that did not work this time.

THe PLC's EEPROM is either corrupted or damaged. Did you send the @01$cKILL00* to try to reset the PLC transfer password structure? If that does not work that means that the EEPROM M2017P may have been damaged and need replacement. You could also replace the EEPROM with the expanded EEPROM option M2018P (http://www.tri-plc.com/m2018p.htm) which gives you more memory than the standard EEPROM.
